Burkina Faso Parliament set ablaze in Protest

At least one dead in clashes after demonstrators storm assembly in protest against vote to allow president another term.
Anti-government protesters in Burkina Faso have set parliament ablaze in a surge of violence that forced the government to at least temporarily scrap a vote on constitutional amendments that would allow President Blaise Compaore to extend his 27-year rule.

At least one person was killed in Thursday's violence, according to news agencies.
Hundreds of people broke through a heavy security cordon and stormed the National Assembly building in the capital Ouagadougou, ransacking offices and setting fire to cars, before attacking the national television headquarters.
Police had tried to control the crowds using tear gas, but the demonstrators were able to push through the barricades and make their way into parliament.
"It is over for the regime!" and "We do not want him again!" protesters shouted when they heard that the vote on term limits had been stopped.
Flames enveloped the main building in the parliament complex, and many politicians fled to a nearby hotel.

The crowd then headed towards the presidential palace as a government helicopter flew overhead, shooting teargas at protesters.
Security forces fired live rounds and tear gas at protesters near the presidency in the Ouaga 2000 neighbourhood, Reuters reported.
"It is difficult to say what happens next, but things are out of control because the demonstrators do not listen to anyone," Ablasse Ouedraogo, an opposition politician said.
Politicians had been due to vote on Thursday on a government plan to change the constitution to allow Compaore - who took power in a coup in 1987 - to stand for re-election again next year, when he was due to stand down.
The government, facing its worst crisis since a wave of mutinies shook the country in 2011, later announced it was calling off the vote but it was not immediately clear if this was a temporary move.
The Defense couldn't stop the crowd.

Nobel Prize winner Malala donates $50,000 to Gaza Schools

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai said Wednesday she will donate $50,000 to help rebuild U.N. schools damaged during the recent conflict in Gaza. The Pakistani teenager announced she would be giving away the winnings from her World's Children's Prize while collecting the award in Stockholm. "Innocent Palestinian children have suffered terribly and for too long," Yousafzai said. "We must all work to ensure Palestinian boys and girls, and all children everywhere, receive a quality education in a safe environment. Because without education, there will never be peace."
Yousafzai was shot in the head by a gang of Taliban militants who objected to her educational activism. She has since gone on to promote education globally. The schools benefiting from her funds were hit by Israeli shells during seven weeks of bombing and fighting in July and August, which left more than 2,100 Palestinians and 72 Israelis dead. Comparing Unconventional Housing and Lifestyle

The "Oyibo water Houses" sit on hollow concrete foundations that are attached to six iron piers. The fat posts in between the houses are the guides that keep the homes in place as they glide up and down. Well constructed for safety. Meanwhile, the Maroka water houses in Nigeria are built from hardwood, supported by wood stilts driven deep into the waterbed. Each house usually houses between six to ten people and a high percentage are rental properties. The residents use dug out canoe to navigate the canals that crisscross between the houses. In Nigeria's water houses, aside from transportation, canoes are also used for fishing and act as points of sale where women sell food, water and household goods. I suppose some of us have had to witness the lives between this two abode. The Bitter truth remains that the Poor will always dwell in every part of the world and they are the ones who dwell in such odd water houses in developing countries.

A Cameroonian student has been found dead in Germany

Brice Donald Takam was the name of the young Cameroonian student found dead in a small Lake in the town of Brême in Germany..Brice Donald Takam born in 1988 and a student of one of the colleges there had   gone missing for several days, keeping his family ,friends and colleagues worried and out on the streets.Despite the information given by the police as  the possible cause of his death, a lot of questions and doubts are yet to be dissolved. The Cameroonian community still think that there is more to his death than meets the eye.
With an autopsy yet to be conducted, the German police declared that the young man must have suffered a cardiac arrest..
The bitter truth of the matter is how can a person be found dead in a lake at a park where several people do their daily sports and his body was never discovered until 9 days after, plus if the cause of his death was as a result of a heart attack as the police claimed, then how did he find himself in the lake..
"No be small thing ooo"...the number of Africans killed in Germany each year is said to be alarming. It was reported that Brice unfortunately went out that evening all by himself ,usually he always had company.
So please young folks in colleges especially in Europe it is imperative that you go out in groups and guard each others back..
RIP Brice Donald Takam..
Only God knows...

Another Coal Mine accident in Southern Turkey

Turkey has just experienced another coal mine accident in the southern part of the country after a previous one that happened earlier this year.About 18 workers have been trapped and yet to be rescued. Initial reports said flooding inside the Has Sekerler mine near the town of Ermenek in Karaman province caused the cave-in, but subsequent reports workers were trapped by the water. Turkey's emergency management agency, AFAD, said a broken pipe in the mine caused the flooding but did not elaborate. The truth remains man must work, but this job is very risky. However, our prayers remains with all the families affected especially the entire country of Turkey. (Culled from ABCnews)

Halloween Ebola costume sparks Contention

The recent " Sexy Ebola Halloween Costume" has caused alot of controversy on the media and many are wondering why somebody or a group of people will take something as serious and deadly as Ebola to mess with to the point of creating a sexy costume for the Halloween.
I will not be surprised if this particular item  has had an outstanding amount of sales..Some human beings are really weird and have no respect for humanity.
The bitter truth is,Ebola has no good news to write home about and as such no man under his right senses should be making jokes about it.  "Na wah oo" i wish the person who came up with this costume could spend more time trying to help CDC to contain this monster rather than making some fun costume out of a precarious situation. In my opinion, please do not promote this craziness by buying this costume any of this.

China Cubing the Spread of Jihad

China has arrested 139 people in Xinjiang for allegedly spreading jihad, state-run media said Wednesday, as it warns of growing religious extremism in the far western region, home to Muslim Uighurs.
Another 256 people had been “punished” for spreading online rumours, the Global Times said citing local authorities, without specifying the measures taken.
Beijing has pointed to violent incidents to indicate a rising militant threat among the ethnic minority, but information in the vast region is tightly controlled and Uighur organisations complain of cultural and religious repression.
Police in Xinjiang have “handled an increasing number of cases in which individuals have posted or searched for religious extremist content on the Internet”, the China Daily said, citing an unnamed source in the Xinjiang Daily.
In the two months to the end of August, 139 people were arrested for “spreading religious extremism including jihad”, it said.
Also citing the Xinjiang Daily, the Global Times said a farmer in Hotan was detained after he uploaded 2GB of e-books about secessionism which were read 30,000 times.
“Overseas hostile forces have never stopped infiltrating and inciting residents to take up extreme religious ideas through the Internet and the online spreading has become a great threat to ethnic unity and social stability,” the Global Times said, citing police.
Dilshat Rexit, a spokesman for the overseas-based World Uyghur Congress, which Beijing calls a separatist group, said the claims were a “total distortion of the truth” aimed at blocking Uighurs from going online.
Those detained had “expressed discontent with Chinese rule and systematic repression in the area”, he said.
China s goal “is to suppress Uighurs use of the Internet to obtain information and express different points of view”, he added.
News of the detentions comes just ahead of the start of the Muslim Hajj, when almost 12,000 Chinese pilgrims are expected in Mecca according to reports.
China s state-run media have previously reported that Uighurs have fought in Syria s civil war against the regime, then returned home to put their militant experience into practice.
Members of a gang behind what China called a “terrorist attack” in Lukqun in June that left 35 people dead watched extremist videos beforehand, the China Daily said, citing police. (culled from Beijing APF)

"At least 42 persons including Bishop Samuel Akpan, believed to be the man behind the emergence of Chief Godswill Akpabio as governor in 2007, have indicated interest to contest the governorship of Akwa Ibom State in 2015 on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Others are the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, former SSG, Obong Umanah Okon Umanah, former Commissioner for Finanace, Obong Bassey Albert, former Deputy Governor of the state, Obong Nsima Ekere, former Ambassader to Russia, Asam Asam,SAN, a former Senior Personal Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, Professor Richard King, former Minister of Women Affairs and serving senator, Senator Helen Esuene, former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state, Mr. Ekpenyong Ntekim, former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Effiong Abia, among others.
Bishop Akpan, who declared intention to contest the governorship election, yesterday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, said he was in the race to enable him wipe out poverty from the state through employment generation and industrialization, bringing new development and creation of new cities and improving on the economic and financial profile and total transformation of the state.
He said: “We will have no business again with poverty. Poverty must be wiped out while unemployment will be a thing of the past and no longer the portion of the people of Akwa-Ibom State.”"  The Bitter truth is this, "if everybody contest for Governorship," who will vote. All this greed is because of the Oil Wells in the State and not because they want to make a difference. God is our help, we hope the best man wins the sit.(Culled from Vanguard)

Ghana's Under17 football team expelled for age fraud

Ghana has been expelled from the up coming African youth championship to take place next year in Niger. It is not a strange thing to hear that most African football players reduce their ages in order to meet the required age limit, but the case of Ghana was quite noticeable during their last match with Cameroon. The Cameroonian team complained about a handful of Ghanaian players who were way above the age limit of the tournament. After a series of investigations by CAF, two Ghanaian plays were found guilty with fake medical reports and ages. This has earned "The Black Scarlet" a dis-qualifier from the Under 17 football tournament in Niger next year..
The bitter truth remains that you can not fool all the people all the time  and it is rather unfortunate for Ghana's U17 team to be banned for such fraud. This is a bitter lesson for other teams to follow.

Going by this invoice, we now know why the poor gets poorer and the rich gets richer. Imagine how many aspirants are purchasing this ticket in Akwa Ibom State, let alone across the entire country under PDP. With such huge some, how would the winner of the Governorship seat not embezzle Government funds? Remember this is just tickets purchase for primaries. The Bitter truth remains, the rich will continue to get richer and the Poor remain poorer till eternity. I pray we belong to the rich class.

Stake Holders seek investigation to Law School Mass Failure

Last week there was a shout out on all media on the subject "mass failure in Nigeria law school Exams". Thanks to the media who drew the attention of the public to such unscrupulous act .
Now relevant stake holders are speaking out on behalf of the affected students. They describe the 50 percent mass failure recorded in the last Bar exam as scandalous. And the new DG Mr Olarewaju Onadeko of the Nigeria Law school has asked the affected students to call for their papers to be remarked, and also stating no students will be victimize.
This is the Bitter truth my people, the last time i learnt of students calling for their papers in Nigeria's colleges, it never went down well with the students. Many at times the students are  victimize by other lecturers. There is no doubt that some of the students who made it did not  merit a pass.
For fairness, we expect the DG of the school to call for review and give credit to the students who worked hard and truly deserve a pass."Habba no be small thing"..)- lolzzzz.

Hoodlums and Armed Robbers write to Ikotun Residents, demanding Christmas Gift

It sad as it is only in my beloved country Nigeria that i read and hear things like this, where armed robbers and hoodlums terrorize residents and get away with it.No security or opposition. lolzzz..." Na wah oo" .It has gotten to a stage where the residents are now receiving letters and notifications from Armed Robbers. Isn't this the most scary thing any community can ever go through? The residents of the said neighborhood in Ikotun area in Lagos now live in fear. The bitter truth is Lagos residents put all  their confidence in their government that such hoodlums will be fished out and put under the law... The government whose major responsibility is  to protect lives and properties should not lack behind leaving the residents helpless. Lagos State security agencies should stand up for their residents and foil the plans of the robbers.Nigerians need security and assurance; arm robbery in our country must be is really getting out of hand.(picture Credit: Punch news)
